Welcome to Seven in Seven, where we take a look at shows coming to the region over the next week. Whether your musical tastes are rock ’n’ roll, jazz, heavy metal, R&B, singer-songwriter or indie, there’ll always be something to check out.

Here are seven of the best on the docket for the week of July 22:

The Cult + Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — July 22 at The Met

Hands down one of the best bills of the summer features The Cult and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club along with experimental/art pop artist Zola Jesus as an opener. The Cult continues to be a reliable rock ’n’ roll unit, as evidenced on their latest single, “Give Me Mercy,” and their vast catalog of hits like “Wild Flower,” “Fire Woman” and “She Sells Sanctuary.” Bringing along BRMC is a stroke of genius, with their unique brand of moody, post-punk garage rock fitting in seamlessly with sonic stylings of the headliner and the tagline for the tour, “We Own the Night.” As for The Cult, they’ve got a new record coming out the first week of October titled “Under the Midnight Sun.”

Beach House — July 23 at The Met

The evening at the Met following the “We Own the Night” tour stop will be quite different as Baltimore duo Beach House bring their dream pop to town. Made up of lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Victoria LeGrand and guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Alex Scally, the pair’s most recent album, “Once Twice Melody,” was the first they produced themselves. Presented in four chapters which were released beginning last fall, the entire work is now available in all its ethereal and buoyant glory.

Hanson — July 24 at The Fillmore

Pop-rock trio Hanson are in town as part of a massive world tour supporting their new album, “Red Green Blue.” The LP comprises three solo-led projects from Taylor, Isaac and Zac Hanson, and marks the band’s milestone 30th anniversary by bringing together the three unique creative voices like never before, with a third of the album written and produced by each brother. Each of the brothers has his own distinctive voice and style, but they all fit together in one complete work too. And for those keeping score at home, Taylor is “Red,” Isaac’ is “Green” and Zac is “Blue.”

BabyJake — July 24 at Kung Fu Necktie

Singer, songwriter and producer BabyJake promises he’s “bringing back rock ’n’ roll,” though it might not be the same kind you’re used to. It’s got all of the style, swagger and spirit of the ’70s, but it’s lit up by a fresh fire. The Florida-born and Los Angeles-based artist exudes enough star power to pull off a cowboy hat and flare jeans — like some kind of lovable Quentin Tarantino outlaw — but he’s also definitely a byproduct of the times with a natural predilection for viral impact. BabyJake may just find it, too, with his sophomore effort, “The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now,” a mishmash of genres featuring collaborations with heavyweights like Linda Perry.

Regina Spektor — July 24 at The Mann

Regina Spektor has found herself synonymous with New York City. The Russian/Jewish/American singer, songwriter and pianist got her own sign on the Bronx Walk of Fame, as well as “Regina Spektor Day,” proclaimed by Mayor Bill DeBlasio back in 2019. Her new album, June’s “Home, before and after,” could be her most diverse and sonically adventurous collection of songs yet. Recorded in upstate New York, the LP is Spektor at her most inspired, as evidenced on pieces of brilliance like “Becoming All Alone,” a surrealist ballad that swells with arrangements and comes alive while burrowing in the listener’s head.

Boy Pablo — July 26 at The Theatre of Living Arts

Boy Pablo is Nicolas Muñoz, whose autobiographical debut album “Wachito Rico” takes listeners through the highs and lows of his alter-ego’s love story. Last week, though, the Chilean/Norwegian indie-pop singer-songwriter released “Be Mine,” a one-off single in a style that did not fit with a new project Pablo is working on but has a sound that insists on a summer release. That’s the second surprise release from Muñoz in just the last month. June saw him team up with Singapore pop singer Celine Autumn of the band Sobs to take on the Human League classic “Don’t You Want Me.”

Banks — July 28 at The Met

Since her spellbinding and critically acclaimed debut LP “Goddess” in 2014, Banks has garnered more than 1.4 billion combined streams and headlined sold out shows and festivals all over the world. Her musical signatures remain alternative pop inflected with touches of the off-kilter R&B she grew up with in Southern California. Her new album, “Serpentina,” is Banks’ first release as an independent artist, seeing her enter previously uncharted territory in every sense, from sound to lyrics to visuals and everything in between.

• The Cult: “Give Me Mercy”

• Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: “Conscience Killer”

• BabyJake: “Do I Fit in Your Shoes?”
