Richard Erdman Mattmiller, 88, of Green Bay passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Odd Fellows Nursing Home. Richard was born on March 11, 1934 in the town of Upham, Langlade County to Harold and Theresa (Vaughn) Mattmiller. He is a graduate of Mattoon High School. Richard served his country in the National Guard. On August 15, 1964, he married Jeannette Wu. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1994. Richard was a truck driver, that began his career driving a milk truck and escalated to owning his own trucks. Over the years he drove for Jim Mortenson, Harvey Mach, Fort Howard, Packerland, and Krueger Metal Products. Richard enjoyed traveling with his siblings, woodworking, gardening, relaxing and having a beer in the backyard and spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his children: Rick (Carol) Mattmiller, Pam (Andy) Racine, and Gary (Beth) Antoniewicz; son-in-law: Dave Olejniczak; grandchildren: Chris (Danelle) Mattmiller, Rachel (Matt) Dugan, Mike (Jessica) Mattmiller, Lisa Hebel, Brad (Sarah) Racine, and Mary (Julio) Cedillo; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; significant other: Sandra Timmers; Sandy’s children: Tammy (Kevin) Carpenter, Tonya (Wally) Techmeier, and Tina (special friend Tom) Timmers; Sandy’s grandchildren: Austin, Dalton, Carissa, Lydia and Harley; brothers and sister-in-law: Vernon Mattmiller, Aurel Mattmiller, and Merlin (Linda) Mattmiller; and sister: Marilyn McKenna. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Meg Olejniczak; wife: Jeannette Mattmiller; sister and brothers: Ruth, Harold, Willard, Walter and Edgar; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A funeral service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., with Rev. Keith Swanson officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm. Richard will be laid to rest at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
