Multiple people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of the 20-year-old Bradford woman with forensics at units in Thornbury Road, Bradford

Police have cordoned off industrial units and erected a blue tent at the entrance to one of them in an investigation linked to a missing 20-year-old Bradford woman

The cordon and tent have been put in place at units on Thornbury Road in Bradford. Police have sealed off the scene which is opposite the Islamic Cultural and Educational Association mosque just off Leeds Road.

It is understood that police have been at the scene for up to three days and West Yorkshire Police has confirmed the investigation is linked to the disappearance of Somaiya Begum, 20, who was last seen at her home address on Binnie Street on Saturday afternoon at approximately 2pm.

Multiple people have been arrested in connection with her disappearance and there have been no confirmed sightings or contact since she vanished.

Searches are continuing to find Bradford woman Somaiya Begum whose disappearance is being treated as “unexplained”.

The 20-year-old was last seen at her home in Binnie Street on Saturday afternoon at 2pm.

West Yorkshire Police have since made a “number of arrests” and a blue tent has been placed in Thornbury Road at a storage yard off the street - only five minutes away from her home.

At the scene, a sniffer dog was seen behind the cordon. But this evening (Wednesday), Yorkshire Live believes that a home near Somaiya's house has been searched. Detective Inspector Karl Noglik of Bradford CID previously said “we are extremely concerned for the welfare of Somaiya.”

Forensics teams are searching the area with an investigation ongoing.

Crime scene investigators have been sawing open containers at the scene.

Our reporter at the scene says there's one sniffer dog behind the cordon, forensic officers in white suits remain behind the police tape too and roughly around five uniformed officers.

The cordon is directly opposite Thornbury Play & Learn Nursery.
