Body Of Man Found Deceased Inside Porta-Potty In Windham: Update | Windham, NH Patch

WINDHAM, NH — Additional information has been released from the NH Attorney General's Office, NH State Police and Windham police on the deceased person found on Thursday.

Windham Fire, EMS, and police responded to West Shore Road for a report of a deceased person found. Sources indicated the person had been there for an extended period of time and no life-saving measures or EMS were needed. Several reports indicated the person was found by a construction crew and that it was located inside a porta-potty on the side of the road.

Windham police requested the assistance of the NH Attorney General's Office and state police who responded to the scene.

"At approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday an adult male was found deceased near the intersection of West Shore and Woodvue Roads," the attorney general's office said in a statement. "The circumstances surrounding this individual's death are being actively investigated. Additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of that investigation."

State police detectives from the Major Crime Unit were on the scene by mid-morning.

Detectives took photos and gathered evidence at the scene. A medical examiner from the Office of the NH State Medical Examiner's Office.

At about 11 a.m., a hearse from a local funeral home arrived at the scene and removed the body. The hearse was followed from the scene by a police officer, and it is believed the body was transported to Concord for an autopsy.

Authorities remain at the scene processing the scene throughout the afternoon.

An autopsy on the deceased individual is scheduled for Friday.
